Here are the thank you notes that Hilary Duff wrote on her new album:
I can?t believe I am sitting here coming up with the "Thank You" notes for my fourth record. It feels so surreal. I want to thank my fans first before I start explaining my journey and purpose for this record. I can?t begin to explain the way it feels to be so supported by people everywhere I go. Having people tell me they love my songs or play my record nonstop is so rewarding. I am thankful everyday for the life that I have and job that allows me to be creative and have new experiences. Without my fans I couldn?t do this, so I thank you and I wish you could know how grateful I am.
This is the first time I have written a record completely based on how I was feeling on any particular day. Good mood, bad mood, sad, happy, playful, funny, lonely, stressed out, or really calm and peaceful. It?s all there!!
I?ve worked with Kara (Dioguardi) many times and knew that I wanted to write this album with her help. She?s such a free spirit and really understands me. We had too much fun. I admire her as a person, friend and songwriter. She is the epitome of cool! Kara, thank you for helping me.
Most of the record I wrote at home with Kara, where I feel most comfortable and free. I got to experiment with new sounds and also open myself up to say how I feel. I wanted to let people know I am just a normal girl, not perfect. I have problems just like everyone else. All the songs are self explanatory and I hope that everyone will relate. This is my outlook on where I am in my life.
This last year has been a big growing period for me. My mom and my sister are the ones that help me understand my life, who I am and who I want to be as a person. They have given me so much to look up to.
Mom, your strength and intuition still shock me. I will strive to be such a hard working and devoted person like you someday. Thank you for all that you have instilled in Haylie and me. I love you so much.
Haylie, you are my best friend. I?ve always wanted to be just like you. You have always included me, made me feel good about myself and helped me make good decisions based on yours I?ve watched you make. You are the perfect big sister and roommate (even though you leave your shoes all over the house!!!!). Thanks for being silly with me all of the time. I love you more than I know how to say.
Troy, you make me feel like I could accomplish anything. I know you would and will support me in anything I dream. You have been a huge part of my life for the most important years and I thank you for all you?ve taught me and all I continue to learn from you. We are a team forever.
Andre (Ze German!) Recke, can you believe we?ve done four records together?! Thanks for teaching me so much and listening to me. We get to be honest all the time. You are such a big part of making all of my records come together. Thank you for investing so much time and energy in me. I love you.
Aunt Roz, I love you so much. Thank you for always being there for the difficult stuff. I always feel loved and supported by you and Uncle Mike. Cousin Mike, I want to thank you and your beautiful family for simply always loving me and being proud.
I also want to dedicate this album in loving memory of my special grandmother who taught me how to read. I miss you and I know that you are always around me.
Taylor, we have been friends for a decade. You make me laugh. I am lucky to have a friend that continues to be there through everything. We are always truthful with each other and I appreciate that. I love you dearly.
